The Community Housing Resource Center exists to support and guide families in Southwest Washington through the process of becoming homebuyers for the first time.  In the past 12 years, the Center has worked with over 18,000 households.  Over 5,000 of those families have purchased a home within one year of contacting the center.

Services to first-time homebuyers include:  assessment counseling, certificated homebuyer education classes, assistance with applications for special first-time homebuyer loans, and long-term preparation for becoming homebuyers.  Other services include mortgage default counseling and assisting senior citizens with using equity as a means for monthly income through reverse mortgages.

The Center provides its services to anyone in Southwest Washington and the majority of those who receive services are of low to moderate income (80% or less of the area median income).  About half of the Center’s client households receive 50% or less of the area median income.
